This all sounds so much like my husband's half-Italian/half-Croatian and Native American family in Chicago. They lived in a German neighborhood. My mother-in-law (when she was younger) cooked the weirdest conglomeration of international foods. Italians are big on spinach in stuff. She used to make pirogi, too, which is what I think you're talking about with the Polish food.

I loved this post. I love your darker ones, too, but this one gave me chuckles of recognition.

Pirogi, that's it!

My nighttime music therapy really seems to be helping. Instead of waking up feeling stressed, I wake up feeling mellow.

These are the posts I'm going to be glad later that I wrote.

Of course! I earned the title back in an apartment that was so infested with roaches, and I was so crazed, I eventually started killing them with my bare hands.

Man, am I glad I'm only dealing with fleas now. I'm too old for that shit.
